Sidney Township Minutes January 5, 2009 Supervisor Peterman called the Sidney Township Board meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. ATTENDANCE: All Present AGENDA: Motion by Ek to approve the agenda, supported by Petersen. Motion carried, agenda approved. MINUTES: Motion by Petersen to approve the minutes of December 1, supported by Ek. Motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE: SHERIFF’S REPORT: Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputy, Charlie Mahar reported on his activity in the Township during November and December. GUEST SPEAKERS: CITIZEN’S COMMENTS: TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Petersen reported a balance on hand as of 12/31/08 of $42,933.65. Motion by Thomsen, supported by Ek to approve the report, motion carried. Motion by Ek, supported by Petersen for payment of the bills. Motion carried.
REPORTS: Montcalm County Commissioner, John Johansen, reported on County issues involving the Township. Township Planning Commission will have a meeting at 7 p.m. on January 12. Neighborhood Watch will have a meeting at 7 p.m. on January 15 at the Township Hall. Supervisor Peterman gave updated information on the Derby, Nevins Lakes, MCC sewer project.
OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS: Approved appointing Ray Leyrer, Randy Lund, and Coleen Venema to the Township Board of Review with alternate being Dave Buckner. Approved a resolution authorizing an alternative starting date for the December, March, and July Township Board of Review meetings.
