The Fred Meijer Heartland Trail is completely maintained by volunteers who donate time and equipment to keep our Trail looking great.  If you would be interested in being part of this project, please contact the Coordinators listed below.

      Adopt A Trail Crew Members have the following responsibilities:

 

      1.  Check on your adopted section at least twice a month from April to

           the end of October.

      2.  Clear the Trail of debris and refuse.

      3.  Prune trees or shrubs as needed to keep the Trail and mowed areas

          clear.

      4.  Report vandalism, unsafe conditions and large trash items to your

           Crew leader.

      5.  Sweep paved Trail surfaces if needed, especially at road crossings.

 

       Possible Trail projects needing Board approval could include:

      1.  Planting and maintaining trees, flowers, or shrubs.

      2.  Promoting wildlife and the natural environment.

      3.  Building and maintaining birdhouses.

      4.  Raising funds for new projects.

      5.  Installing and maintaining picnic tables or benches.
