The current Montcalm County Jail opened on March 1, 2002. The facility was built utilizing the latest innovations in Corrections technology and initially contained 119 beds.
In 2003, an additional 52 beds were added after remodeling an adjoining section of the original jail, bringing the total bed capacity to 181. A second renovation, this time in the new facility was completed in the Fall of 2006, adding another 24 beds. The current total bed count is 205.
The Montcalm County Jail currently employs 22 full-time Corrections Officers, 4 Sergeants, a Corrections Clerk and Jail Administrator.
NOTICE: Effective April 12, 2011: Sex Offenders (SOR) may report for verification and address changes on Monday – Thursday between the hours of 8:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. You may also report to Michigan State Police Post – Lakeview for verification/address changes. If you reside in the City of Greenville you may also report to Greenville Department Public Safety for verification/address changes.
