Q: What do I do with the neighbors barking dog?

A: Sidney Township has a noise ordinance, call the police department at (989) 831-5253. They will go to the residence & if the dog is continueing to bark, they will site either a warning or a ticket.

Q: How do I reserve the Sidney Park?

A: Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. But if you call Terry & tell him your plans, he will be able to tell others should they call to see if the park is busy. The best advice is get there early. We have 2 pavillians for use so usually it's not a problem.

The Treas is in the office each Tues & Thurs from 9-2.  The summer taxes are mailed on July 1 and winter billing is mailed Dec 1 each year.  Summer taxes are accepted at the hall thru the end of Feb with 1% added monthly if paid late.  The winter bill is due Feb 14 but another 3% is added to both summer & winter bill if not paid on time.  If you wish to pay by credit card you can call 1-866-480-8568 or go online to www.paytrustsolutions.com.  An additional 3% is added by the company. Delinquent taxes as of March 1st are paid to the County Treasurer in Stanton. 

 

 Esther also rents out the township hall to township residents.  A copy of the rental agreement can be copied off, signed & sent with your payment.  Please call the hall for available dates.

 

 

 Assessor for Sidney Township is Debra Rashid. You can reach her by calling the hall at 989-328-3535 ext 4 or email her at sidneyassessor@hotmail.com. 

 

She is at the hall on the 1st & 3rd Wed of Sept-Nov from 3-5.  Dec hours are the 1st Wed 3-5 and Dec BOR will be Dec 14 from 3-5

 

She will be making home visits to check building permits.  You will notice a Sidney Township sign on her vehicle.

Contact Dale at (989) 328-2096 for a zoning permit or land division.  You can also copy the permit found here & mail it to Dale along with the fee.

Items needed before a permit can be issued: Copy of Deed to property-Health Dept permit(site evaluation), Site plan. Fees are as follows: $10 for Zoning permit, ZBA hearing $200, hearing for re-zoning $300, Special planning commission meeting $375. Special use permit $200.
