A four horsepower pulled sleigh with a large load of logs. Loads of logs were pulled over iced roads to make it easier for the horses. The iced road went to a stream bank where the logs were stacked until the spring thaw, then the logs were rolled into the stream and floated on down to the millpond and sawmill.
