Tom Lindeman was appointed to the District 2 County Commissioners seat April 14, 2008 filling the vacated seat of Dan Petersen.  He then won election in November 2008 continuing service January 1, 2009.

Tom serves as the Chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee. Tom also serves on the following committee's: Economic Development & Physical Resources, Finance & Personnel, Ionia Montcalm District DHS Board liaison, Northern Michigan Counties Association, Montcalm Housing Commission, Montcalm Substance Abuse Advisory, RiverHaven Coordinating Advisory Board, Greenville Transportation Study, WMRPC CEDSC, Bay Arenac Behavioral Health Agency, Eight Cap Governing Board, Medical Control Authority, MMDHD Board of Directors, Montcalm Alliance, Safety Committee, and the Solid Waste Management committee.

District 2 includes all of Eureka Township and all of Fairplains Township. The 4th precinct of the City of Greenville is also included in the second commissioner district. (The fourth precinct consists of a majority of the Northeast portion of Greenville using M-57 and M-91 as the dividing lines.)
