You think you can do it.....
So are you interested in becoming a firefighter? Does getting up at 3:00 O’clock in the morning and responding to an alarm sound like it would be a challenge for you? It happens, not every day but being able to respond to a fire call is something that will be required. Day or night, rain, shine, snow or ice. Our department responds up to 50 calls a year. There is a good chance then that some would be at 3:00 o’clock in the morning. The Carson City Fire Department is looking for a few good individuals who would be willing to devote their time and services to their community. By joining the Fire Department you will be helping to protect and serve your fellow citizens. There are some requirements and qualifications that you must be able to attend classes that total around 160 hours. You will have 2 years from your hiring date to complete this training. The Fire department has 2 monthly training meetings that you would be required to attend. These training meetings are used for maintenance of equipment as well as to familiarize firemen on new standards and methods. We take are jobs at the Fire Department very seriously, but also enjoy the friendship and camaraderie that goes on after the job at hand is over. We are the Professionals that teach the children of the community about Fire Safety, and teach the community about Fire Prevention. If this sounds interesting and you would like to apply to become a Fire Fighter, please fill out the attached application, and return it to the Carson City Hall, M-F between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The Fire Departments Officer’s will then review your application for consideration.
