Undersheriff Mark T. Bellinger

     On January 15, 2010, Mark T. Bellinger was appointed as Undersheriff with the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office. Bellinger started his career at the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office in 1989 after graduating from the 44th recruit school at the Mid Michigan Police Academy in Lansing.  After Recruit training, Bellinger was assigned to the Marine Division.  He was later transferred to the Patrol Bureau where he worked in traffic services and general patrol.

 

    Undersheriff Bellinger then worked in the Criminal Investigation Division as a Detective for 2 years until he was promoted to Sergeant and was then reassigned back to the Road Patrol Division where he oversaw the Community Policing program. 

 

     Undersheriff Bellinger graduated from Central Montcalm High School and is also a graduate of Montcalm Community College and Northwestern University.  He graduated from Police School of Staff and Command (SPSC # 189),  FBI-NA, LEEDA, and Executive Police Management Program (EMP # 29).  Undersheriff Bellinger is a decorated police officer that included a Resolution from the Board of Commissioners in 2005 for outstanding service and in 2008 he was awarded the prestigious “Public Safety Executive Leadership Award.” 

 

     Undersheriff Bellinger is a past president for the school PTO program; he also served in the past as a city councilman in his community. Mark and his wife Renee reside in the Sheridan area with their 2 sons Nicholas and Blake and they attend the Sheridan Community Church.
