TRIPS FOR 2012 call 989-831-7476 to register Tuesday, April 24, 2012 is Red Hat Ladies Day at Frankenmuth. This day will include shopping at the “Red Hat Shoppers Corner”, Zehnder’s Famous Chicken Luncheon with Wine & Special Dessert, Table Favors, Entertainment by “Ivory & Gold”, Shopping Discounts, Door Prizes & More. This trip cost $66.00. Sign up and pay by March 2, 2012. Holland Tulip FestivalOn May 8, 2012 we will be heading over to Holland to see all of the beautiful tulips in bloom. We will first be stopping at the Dutch Marktplaats so you can check out all of the wonderful Dutch tastes, sights, sounds, & crafts. After that we will be going to Evergreen Commons Senior Center, to see “Let There Be Music!”. An exciting song & dance extravaganza! With a full, live pit band, the show has a sampling of big band, show tunes, country, barbershop, gospel & many more types of music. The show is preceded by a delicious lunch. After lunch and the show we will wander over to the Tulipapalooza, which is a park with lots of tulips and some sculptures. This is a great place to take pictures. After spending some time there we will head for home. We will be taking the party bus for this trip and the cost is $50.00. Sign up & payment is due by April 13, 2012. Whitecaps Baseball Game On May 21, 2012 we will be going to Grand Rapids to watch the West Michigan Whitecaps. This is a Senior Living Day so the following activities are included:9:30am Early entry into the Pepsi Stadium Club 10 to 11am Play bingo and win special Whitecaps prizes!11:30 to 12:30pm Lunch is served. (one hot dog, a bag of chips, two cookies, and your choice of a soft drink or coffee)11:00am The game starts! The Pepsi Stadium Club is an exclusive indoor climate controlled area that has it’s own restrooms. I plan on taking the Party Bus and the cost will be $40.00. Saturday, June 16, 2012 Broadway Grand Rapids presents CATS. This ground breaking musical won seven Tony Awards, and it’s New York run was the longest in Broadway history. With this new North American tour, the CATS phenomenon has continued to live up to it’s motto: “Now and Forever”. We will first head to Squires Street Square in Rockford where you have time to visit the many shops and have lunch (on your own) at Arnie’s, which is close by or you may find another restaurant that tickles your tastes buds more. After lunch we will head over to the Devos Performance Hall to the matinee show of CATS. After the show we will return to Stanton.This trip cost $71.00 Sign up and pay by May 4th. On July 17th & 18th, The Young Americans show at Boyne Highlands. This is one of the best kept secrets in Michigan. Every year since 1978, The Young Americans Dinner Theatre has entertained and enchanted old and young alike. The Young Americans handpick top young talent from across the country to perform at Boyne Highlands, just for you. Sophisticated cuisine and Broadway music combine to make an enchanting evening of unforgettable Michigan dinner theatre. While you eat, The Young American sing songs from the time when Al Capone lived a few miles away, to more contemporary classic tunes that you know and love. Watch the vibrant young singers, dancers, and actors, dazzle on stage, and savor all the flavors that make BOYNE the best place to create memories. We will start our journey by stopping at the Lavender Hill Farms www.lavenderhillmichigan.com, where we will get a tour of the Lavender fields and then some tasting of foods you can make with lavender. Yum! Lunch today will be on your own. We will be staying at the Best Western of Harbor Springs, and we will be going to the Young Americans show that night. For the dinner and show the dress code is no jeans semi-dressy. Nice slacks will be fine. The next day after breakfast we will stop in downtown Harbor Springs, where you can shop or sightsee. Then we will journey north to Cross Village where we will have lunch (on your own) at Legs Inn www.legsinn.com.
