MCES, consistent with it's responsibility for disaster planning, response, recovery and mitigation, conducts tornado safety inspections at facilities throughout Montcalm County upon request. Schools, hospitals, businesses, and other entities at which large numbers of people may gather should have tornado safety inspections so an effective tornado response procedure can be developed to protect lives in severe weather.
Jerry McCoy has been conducting tornado safety inspections in Montcalm County for over twenty years. He is a Professional Emergency Manager (PEM) certified through the Michigan State Police Emergency Management Division.
