MCES operates five Advanced Life Support (ALS) transport units that are Paramedic staffed and capable of advanced airway management, manual cardiac defibrillation, cardioversion and pacing, and the administration of emergency medications. The ambulances are equipped with the latest in pre-hospital medical technology, including multi-line IV infusion pumps, 12-lead ECGs, autovents and an extremely sophisticated communications system linking it with every hospital emergency room in the region and state.
