Applications are available at the Montcalm County Clerk's Office and the County Sheriff's Department. A complete application and any supporting documentation are presented to the County Gun Board. The County Gun Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Issued permits are then available for pickup at the County Clerk's Office. The applicant must appear in person as a signature is needed. The fee is $105.00 and the permit is valid for five years.
