City of Stanton 
Regular Meeting 
March 24, 2008 
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by Mayor Burns. 
Commissioners present: Geselman, Lehman, Smucker, Petersen, and Tissue Daws. 
Absent Kroneck. 
A motion was made by Petersen and supported by Lehman to approve the minutes to the 
March 10, 2008 meeting as presented. 5 Yes. 0 No. Motion carried. 
Lt. Raines of the Lakeview State Police Post informed the Commissioners of the new 
post in Sheridan. He also told them of the Services they provide in Montcalm County 
and reviewed statistics with them. 
Kroneck joined the meeting at 5:07 pm. 
Ron Finegood introduced himself to the City Commission and informed them of his 
intent to run for the Circuit Court Judge. 
A motion was made by Smucker and supported by Lehman to approve the 
Clerk/Treasurer report as submitted to the Commission. 6 yes. 0 No. Motion carried. 
A motion was made by Petersen and supported by Lehman to approve the payment of the 
bills for March 2008. 6 yes. 0 No. Motion carried. 
Mayor Burns informed the Commission that Spicer is working on the park. 
Discussed the Compost Site. Commission was informed that the DEQ has made it more 
complex than first thought. Documentation, Aerating, and removal of compost will all 
need to be done. Also a $600 fee will be charged. 
Mid month recycling is being moved to Sheridan. 
Citizens Comments: Ron Finegood thanked the city for trimming trees on Main St. 
Good News!!! Spring is here. Don Smucker was chosen on the 16 people in Montcalm 
County that makes a difference. 
A motion was made by Petersen and supported by Lehman to adjourn the meeting. 
Meeting adjourned at 5:47 pm. 
Next meeting will be held on April 14, 2008 at 5:00 pm in the Community Room at City 
Hall. Public Welcome.
