City of Stanton Regular Meeting April 14, 2008 The regular meeting of the City of Stanton was called to order at 5:00pm by Mayor Burns. Commissioners present: Smucker, Geselman, Lehman, Kroneck, Tissue-Daws. Absent Petersen. A motion was made by Geselman and supported by Smucker to approve the minutes to the March 24, 2008 meeting. 5 yes. 0 No. Motion carried. Citizens Comments: Maria Davis, will be the Old Fashion Days Representative to the city. Dan Hula, hula engineering regarding the storm water for the Trinity Church. Hula was asking to make and exception for the Church so they didn’t have to meet the Montcalm County Drain Commissioner’s standards for storm water and also wanted the Commission to rescind the resolution stating that the city would use those standards. Don Cooper, Montcalm County Drain Commissioner was present to tell the Commission the importance of following the standards. City Commission was not interested in changing their resolution or making an exception for the church. New Park Update. Mayor Burns, Chief Muscott and Clerk met with Spieser Engineering and looked at a preliminary plan. They also met with Mrs. Trimper regarding the memorial tree house. Completion date will be by the first of August. Discussed letter to citizens regarding rules for picking up brush and retrieving compost from the Compost site on Brown Rd. Good news!! It will be 65 degrees on Wednesday. A motion was made by Tissue and supported by Kroneck to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 6:13 pm.
