Licenses can only be purchased from the Montcalm County Treasurer’s office. You can come into the office which is located on the 2nd floor of the old Courthouse at 211 W Main St. in Stanton. The office is closed from noon to 1PM daily. You also can get your license by mail. You will need to include a current rabies certificate and proof of spay or neutering. These items will be returned to you with your license by mail. The application is located on the bottom of this page.

State law requires all dogs four (4) months of age and older to have a current rabies vaccination and license. For a one (1) year license the rabies must be valid the entire year. For a three (3) year license the rabies must be valid the entire three (3) years. Check your rabies expiration date prior to mailing your application. The license cannot extend longer than the rabies shot. If your dog has been spayed or neutered or has a new rabies shot since its last license, send proof with your application.
