NEW Hours of Operation:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The mission at our department is to enforce the dog laws of Montcalm County and the State of Michigan, sell dog licenses, and animal facility operation.

This means that we will maintain general patrol of entire county to pick up stray dogs, write citations on loose dogs (when an officer sees them), pick up owned dogs upon request from owner and write citations for people who do not have a dog license. We answer all dog, livestock and equine complaints that people make. We have 2 full-time animal control officers; one of the officers is usually in the office during business hours, while the other is out patrolling the county and answering complaints.  Occasionally, the office is unmanned if an emergency arises and both officers need to go out on the road.

The Animal Control office also operates as a facility for dogs and cats that have been received by our residents or brought in by the department.
