Hours of Operation:  Monday - Friday, 12:30 pm until 5:00 pm.

WE ARE NO LONGER CLOSED FOR LUNCH.

The mission at our department is to enforce the dog laws of Montcalm County and the State of Michigan, sell dog licenses, and animal facility operation.

This means that we will maintain general patrol of entire county to pick up stray dogs, write citations on loose dogs (when an officer sees them), pick up owned dogs upon request from owner and write citations for people who do not have a dog license. We answer all dog ,livestock and equine complaints that people make. We have 2 full-time animal control officers which also serve as administrator and administrative aide and 2 part-time road officers and a census taker. The administrator or aide are traditionally in the office during business hours, the others are out patrolling the county and answering complaints.

The Animal Control office also operates as a facility for dogs and cats that have been received by our residents or brought in by the department.
